time flies…

Christmas is nearly upon us! Never have I seen how quickly December goes by than when I am learning a new job, trying to keep up with my family in NZ, running out of money to do stuff here, follow JYC (the christmas journal class run by Shimelle!!
I hope everyone is being able to make the most from the time we have this month to slow down and savour the memories past and present…
I have cropped twice this month and this Saturday Dave and I are going to see The Nutcracker ballet.

I am so excited! It is the first ballet I will be seeing over here so it will be a special one. I will certainly miss my Mum and sister being with me as normally we go to a few performances a year together but with the obvious miles between us it makes it slightly impractical!!!!

So a few posts ago I made a promise to post more regularly and I am slowly getting there…trying for one a week then upwards from there!

Here is a photo of Dave and I with a bokeh layer from Dave’s recent Work Christmas do. We had a great time and I really enjoyed meeting his work mates who he often talks about.

How are you all enjoying Christmas and the festivities of December?

Journal Your Christmas

December 1st and we were writing manifestos. I will post a picture further on in the post of my manifesto but I was very inspired by the manifesto Shimelle created and decided to put it here on my blog in addition to mine.

And here is my manifesto:

It reads: this, our first christmas in the UK, just us two, will be a time for new traditions, new family and a cool, white, real winter christmas. I aim to record the moments-from the big to the small-so that in future years we will look back and be able to recall the good and not so good Northern Hemisphere White Christmas.

I am working at a slow pace through this JYC as I learnt through Learn Something New in September that doing a page because I “need to” doesn’t always result in work I am happy with. I would like to think I wont get too far behind as I am feeling quite inspired to keep a record of this christmas away from our family back home and I have/had two crops this month. My usual in Surbiton this Sunday (including yummy xmas dinner!) and one last Sunday just gone with a new scrappy friend Kirsty.

I sat down tonight and finished a non jyc page with some gorgeous Prima products and tried out using my sprays. It is the first page I have ever made just of me and I like it…not yet there with the love it but practice makes perfect right?!

More JYC updates later. : )
