Catching up…

Today my mission is to get caught up on my pages for LSN. I have been working on some the last few days but I want to get upto date today!

I have chosen lots of photos to print (which I will send off on the 30th) and I think I should only have about 10 pages to do??? The task now is to sit down and do these pages, post them to the forum (I haven’t posted one yet)…and keep it that way for the last couple of days.

Can’t believe my first LSN is nearly over!!! I have definately learnt a lot about me and how I should prepare for next year to get the most out of this class.

Right- I better get off the computer so I can get these pages done!
See you all in cyberspace soon. : )

Well, I did lots of pages, got upto date and took the photos and resized them…but now it is 11.36pm and I need my sleep so the updates will come over the next few days. Night!

A nice weekend

Dave and I are sitting on the couch. He is watching a movie and I am catching up on emails and my class online. We have had a lovely weekend and it seems that now I will be working every second Saturday that perhaps I will be enjoying my time when I do get the full weekends!

On Saturday morning we woke early. I got to chat to my friend’s little boy (who is growing up SO fast!) on Skype before she put him to bed. He calls me “Aunty Woo” *melts my heart* then we got breakfast out while we waited for my friend to come back on Skype. I got about 45mins talking to her before I had to finish up but those precious 45mins were great. We talked about all the things we would have if I had visited her in person (she is still in NZ while I am now in UK) and arranged to try again this week sometime.

After hanging up I walked down to meet my “UK Mum” as I call her. Our families live in the same area back home and I have been friends with her daughter of the same age for a long time.
We were lucky enough to have a few days free acommodation when we first got here with her and her husband.
We had tea/coffee and devoured a rasberry tart each (which was amazingly fresh!) and talked about all the things going on in our lives. She is such an amazing woman and I am blessed to know her and to have such a great relationship with her.

Later through the day we relaxed and waited for a friend to come over so we could all go together to a 30th party. Dave and I had a good night and we ended up home around 2am.

We have spent most of today blobbing and resting after the late night. (Because we are such nana’s now!!!!)

It was lovely and sunny so I suggested we go for a walk to enjoy the sun and explore our area a little more. We discovered some HUGE houses, a pretty little park, several schools and that we don’t actually get lost here anymore! We wandered, turned back towards home and made it back all without using “modern technology!”

I am gearing myself up for work tomorrow now. Going to have a quick clear up and cup of tea then off to bed.

Hope you all had lovely weekends, would love to hear about them!

Finally…a post from me…

Ok. So it is now Sept 9th. What have I been doing with this class? Not a lot to be honest…I have been fighting off a cold and coping with some interesting conflict with people so most days I have come home, blobbed on the couch, cooked dinner, jotted down a quick thought for the day and gone to bed.
I made the cover a few nights into September but was really unsure of it. As I had no cardstock to use for pages inside that matched ‘well enough’ I decided to buy some Dear Lizzy papers that co-ordinated with the fabric paper I used for the cover.

Because American Crafts are so cool, they make one side a pattern and one side a solid matching colour so I had enough pages to use them for all of September.
It took until a couple of days ago for me to be bothered to do anything more about it so I cleaned my supplies to try and get into the mood (and it worked!). The next evening I sat down and did all the numbers on my pages and put the paper into their sleeves ready to be scrapped!

I have caught up on most of the forum posts now and have even posted my cover on there so I am definately progressing.
I think I may plan out (and by plan out I mean to look at pencil lines or page maps) some page designs for the album as I like to have an idea of what I might do before I put it all together. Or on the other hand, maybe I should be doing one page at a time since I haven’t even yet decided if I will have a photo on every page yet…what do you think?
For now I will link in some photos and get back to the real world. xx
